WOMEN AT WORKPLACE
There has been much talk about conditions that are adverse for women at workplace and a lot of suggestions and policy interventions are there. However the most basic factor is often ignored willingly or unwillingly.
Women at workplace face uncomfortable and discriminatory situations only due to men. It's a hard truth that must be accepted before entering into any room of discussion and debate. Men are there to create a system of disadvantage for women. So the issue of women at workplace must be dealt with considering the male counterparts of the workplace and that men's male chauvinism comes from culture and practices that are infused into them in course of their social upbringing. From the days of birth male child is taught that he is superior to females. This imparting comes from patriarchal culture. This patriarchal and male chauvinism and sexism lessons travels from home to education center, to peer groups, to society and finally to workplaces. And so policy interventions fail to impact in a desired way.
And that's why besides all policy interventions without overhauling of social structure with democratization of family life and social life we are not going to create a safe and @abetterplace either for women or for men.
