COST OF OPPOSITION OF REASON AND FREE DEBATE

If the land of the most rational ancient philosophy is bereft of rationality today it is sheer bad luck of that land. Of all philosophical streams of the ancient world, when the civilizations were striving to develop a world view to improve the quality of human life all over the world , Lord Budha proposed a  rational and reason based philosophy which gave the then Indian society a much needed impetus to develop science, mathematics , art and philosophy. India as a nation could emerge  as the most influential country in the then world. It was the force of the reason based open debate which  was in agreement with the earlier Upnishad trend that could produce some greatest empires with strongest all round developments of society and it's organs of education, science , economy , literature and other art forms and social structure.
      This fact is mentioned here only to remind the importance of reason and free debates. After some two thousand years of Budha European  renaissance  emerged which again underlined the fact that only reason and free debate could strengthen a society. After    renaissance again the French Revolution and American War of Independence and then rise of the West were reaffirmation that there are no alternative to reason and free debate. And universal collapse of colonialism was made possible by   the Indian Struggle of Freedom under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi which was again the greatest plateform of its time in the world for execution of reason and free debate.
        But  there has been some alternative  trend in the history of homo sapiens as well  and that is the history of opposition of reason and murder of free debate. Lord Krishna had some hard and difficult moments in the battlefield but he never tried to coerce Arjuna, rather he resorted to free debate and could ultimately succeed to pursude Arjuna. But authoritarian Duryodhan could not sense the importance of free debate which chance was also offered to him by Lord Krishna himself but he denied and even tried to imprison him and the consequence was the complete destruction of Kauravas. When Mughals abondoned the path of free debate and reason as adopted by Akbar the result was their defeats in multiple wars and their ultimate erosion. When Hitler closed Germany the country faced biggest humiliation which impact is still felt among Germans.Expulsion and termination of Jew Scientis , academicians, entrepreneurs inflicted heavy and irreparable costs upon Hitler's Germany. Failures of Stalin, Castro, Saddam are just a few examples of failure of policies of opposition of reason and free debate.
          So if we want to grow, if we want to develop , if we want to live up the expectations of human dignity we have only one way and that is the way of reason and free debate.

WE NEED DEMOCRACY

    WE NEED DEMOCRACY All schemes and services are meant to serve the people and so the beneficiaries must have every right to make complaints if there is something wrong in the structure and / or in the implementation of the schemes and services. This right to complain is not a costly privilege but it's is the right and this right is protected when the people have right to free speech and other rights as enshrined in our Constitution. The government  is chosen to provide these services and schemes for their betterment, for improving their living standard and the government has no other business more important than this to do. So the government is bound to entertain the complaints and this obligation is fulfilled only when the Constitutionally protected rights are intact. BEYOND RT MODEL

BEYOND RT MODEL History is a playbook of fierce struggle among the state, the market and the community. There have been some rare periods of balance among them.  Present is also witnessing this fierce struggle. The state is advocating minimum.governsnce  in many parts of the world . This was also happened in past. And whenever this has happened the loser is always the community. Present is marked by failures of Reagon-Thatcher Model. Richness must have only objective and that objective is to enrich the community as a whole. The RT Model brought great richness but failed to enrich the community in the same proportion. This was due to its advocacy for minimal government. And so the RT Model has completed  it's life. This collapse is painful no doubt but beyond the curtain of economic depression social prosperity is waiting as there is no other way to keep nation states survived. If community is not brought in the center greater pain is inevitable.
