INDIA ON WRONG PATH

INDIA ON WRONG PATH

The present government's road map for nation's growth in terms of economy and polity is absolutely wrong and this is nothing but a repetition of failed models of past.
At the level of polity the concept of ethnic nationalism has already failed in Europe, Middle East and Africa and no part of the world has any successful model of ethnic society and polity.
Similarly in the sphere of economy much maligned neo liberalism can not be an ideal. Growing inequality and consequent social and economic upheavals have left their scars in many countries. So such a model can never be an ideal.
Thirdly in the field of governance the model of authoritarian govts have no virtues to be showcased in any part of the world. Chinese model is a much talked model in international circle with a curious fact that even those who praise this model have not shown any inclination for approval. Further China has no model to offer as the model changes with the arrival of new leader . Mao had something different to advocate, Deng had completely different offers and Xi has again very different offers. Other authoritarian govts like those of Turkey, Hungry, Poland, Russia , North Korea are not more than some failed stories
So rhe present day govt policy to pursue ethnic nationalism, neo liberal economic order with aurharitarian govt style is nothing but a journey on an already devastated road and our country's future is not encouraging at any front.
India was set to be a unique example of nationalism with federalism in which people of different sub national identities could merge into one national identity through federalism. Our Constitution provided the required agency for this merger. But any good tool can be spoilt by bad carpenters. Power was originally distributed among various institutions and federations(state apparatus) but from the days of Mrs Gandhi there emerged a tendency to make decisions about all stake holders without even consulting them. This has generated a real tension between the Constitutional scheme and real polity. Real polity used the democracy to establish majoritarian rule by bypassing federal elements of the Constitution.
