FREEDOM OF SPEECH
Human beings are almost biologically similar to any animal, particularly mammals. There is no fundamental biological difference from other animals. But at the level of intellect human beings are drastically different owing to their cognitive capabilities. These cognitive capabilities emerge from the biological power of brain which is the most distinctly different from other animals. And then cognitive capabilities are also conditioned by the social environment which also include all environment external to human beings. One cognitive capability which is a gift of nature is capability to think, understand snd express and this capability is fundamental to be qualified for being called a normal human being. This capability is though natural but conditioned by external forces . Since this is one of the most fundamental to human beings, this is naturally the first right which human beings have and must have. Freedom of speech is first claim of human beings as a cognitive animal and this right is a vast right including freedom of thought , freedom of expression and freedom of cooperation besides the freedom of speech. This makes possible the formation of institutions, systems, structures and large scale cooperation. If this right is taken away human beings are bereft of most essential qualification for being human being and they are reduced to animals which are easy to be controlled and to be enslaved. A person bereft of right to think, speak , understand and express is incapable of making cooperation and so fails to act as a social being. Thus snatching the right to speech is capable of snatching capability of being a human being and then it's easy to captivate and even to enslave.
Power has a character of being concentrated. When power is distributed in the long run it shrinks and ultimately falls in a few hands. This was absolutely true till the feudal times as the monarchy had all ultimate right over everything and nothing was considered as private. Then democratic system evolved and it evolved with the first and foremost objective of distribution of power.
