OUR ATTITUDNAL PROBLEM

Our problem in less developed countries is that we chose governments purely on the basis of parochial considerations and even if we chose for the economic qualifications we evaluate them by the performance in industries infrastructures and services. But we fail to understand that development of nations are directly proportion of the opportunities and capabilities  of the people of the nations. Such opportunities are not provided by economy herself. Such opportunities are offered by the politics of the countries. And this is becoming increasingly important in the world where wealth is the direct product of spread of education and technology by means of politics and public policy. No other agency of politics other than simple form of  democracy has the capacity to make possible the dissimilation of education and technology. Of course , democracy, and particularly that democracy which population is non committal to any other ideology and supported and sustained by independent judiciary enables people to be politically empowered . Political power distribution is possible only to that extent to which democracy is available to the general public. And this availability of political power to the general public stimulate the demand for equality of opportunities which help in establishment of non partition rule of law. Equality of rule of laws and equal treatment of people by the rule helps in equitable distribution of capability. This also helps in mitigating the impact of birth based distribution of opportunities.
And in such a society people gets chances to grow themselves and to create wealth which makes the nation wealthy. The simple equation is that wealth of the nation is directly proportional to the wealth of individuals collectively and the latter is directly proportional to the availability of political power in quantity and quality to the people. Thus more people   politically rich means more the country is politically more stable and this produces more wealth for individuals as well as nations. Otherwise individuals may grow but people in general and country as a whole fail to grow. This shifts nature  of power from democracy to oligarchy and plutocracy and ultimately to authoritarianism and in some unfortunate cases to fascism.
