CHOICES IN DEMOCRACY

Democracy is only form in which people have a right to decide what type of government they should have. They have right to have

 a government of their choice. This right put enormous and significant onus on the people . If they choose an inefficient government or a government which is bad in certain respect they can't blame others. And this onus also necessiates that people should be aware of what is good for them. This choice is not so simple. Deciding which is good for themselves requires people to be well informed about their own needs. Better choice is not an easy choice by any means. Realization of reality can enable people to opt for better choice. And reality is not easily realized. A lot of misinformation covers the reality. Let's take one example. A secured  decent income is necessary for leading a good life. But how can we secure a decent income? Quality education , good health and a good proliferating job market are essentials. So if a government provides all these things that can be considered as a good choice in a democracy. This choice can be made by availability of information about policies and such information is possible when flow of information is not barred. 

   These are some of the basic requirements needed to have a good democracy which people can have. We must think about our own choices in light of these fundamentals.
